A Gold Ribbon Welcome
In 2026, Philadelphia will welcome millions of visitors for America's 250th anniversary, the FIFA World Cup, the Major League Baseball All-Star Game, and other marquee global events. Our highways — the first impression for many travelers — must reflect the pride, spirit, and future of our city.
The Gateways to Philadelphia project is an opportunity to set the gold standard for comprehensive highway beautification and landscape improvement nationwide. This initiative is led by the Office of Clean and Green Initiatives (OCG) in partnership with city, state, nonprofit, and private partners.
Each of the seven reimagined gateways into Philadelphia will feature vibrant landscaping, bold murals, graffiti removal, enhanced maintenance, and a signature ribbon of gold that symbolizes the city's warmth, pride, and the bright future we're building together.
This transformative project will:
